Welcome to Readable – Stories & Tales ("Readable", "we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Readable Android application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Description of the Service

Readable is an entertainment application that provides users with a catalog of serialized and standalone short stories across multiple genres. The App allows users to read stories, track reading progress, and save bookmarks locally and on our cloud servers using an anonymous device identifier.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

3. Permitted Use and Prohibited Activities

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes. You agree not to:

• Scrape, copy, reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any story content provided within the App.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App.
• Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the App or its connected servers (e.g., MongoDB databases).
• Bypass any paywalls, advertising restrictions, or security measures implemented within the App.

4. Story Content and Intellectual Property

All stories, text, graphics, logos, and UI designs within the App are the property of Readable or its content licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Please note that some story content may be AI-assisted or AI-generated. You acknowledge that you have no ownership rights over the stories you read or bookmark.

5. Advertising

Unless you purchase a Premium Subscription, the App may display banner, interstitial, or app-open advertisements provided by Google AdMob. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or claims made in third-party advertisements.

6. Premium Subscriptions and Payments

Readable offers an optional "Premium" subscription tier that removes advertisements and may unlock additional premium stories. The currently displayed prices (e.g., $3.99/month or $29.99/year) are processed directly through Google Play Billing.

• Billing: Your Google Play account will be charged upon confirmation of purchase.
• Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Cancellation: You can manage and cancel your subscription anytime through your Google Play Store account settings. Uninstalling the App will not automatically cancel your subscription.

7. Service Availability

We strive to keep Readable operational, but we do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted access to the App or its database. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or server outages. We are not liable for any data loss, including lost bookmarks or reading history.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, or suitability of the App or its content for any particular purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Readable and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the App.

10. Changes to the Service and Terms

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the App (or any part thereof) at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms occasionally. Continued use of the App following any changes indicates your acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
